A Community United in Service and Support

To mark the 125th anniversary of the Wisconsin Veterans Museum (WVM) this month, WDVA Secretary James Bond joined our Museum’s Director, Chris Kolakowski (on right) for the unveiling of the new historical banners on display detailing the museum’s vibrant history. The banners are now on view in the West Gallery of the Wisconsin State Capitol through April 26th.
WDVA Secretary James Bond (pictured in middle) and Jeremy Lyon, Division of Veteran Benefits Administrator (far right), visited the Medical College of Wisconsin's BRAVE Program’s new, expanded clinic space on March 31, 2026. This was their first visit to the new, larger facility, which reflects BRAVE’s growth to added clinical teams and rising demand for Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) care among veterans and first responders.
The Easter Bunny visited members living at the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King in Ainsworth Hall on Sunday, April 5, 2026.
All three Wisconsin Veterans Homes in Chippewa Falls, King, and Union Grove celebrated National Social Workers Month in March by highlighting the caring and dedicated teams of social workers who serve our veterans at each Home.

A Legacy of Support

The Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs was created in 1945 to consolidate separate veterans programs under one agency. Today, the WDVA provides grants and a variety of services to eligible Wisconsin veterans and their families.
