Whether you’re looking to hike, camp, fish, bike, or simply relax in nature, Wisconsin’s 66 state parks, 15 state forests, and 44 state trails provide four seasons of outdoor adventure. Enjoy everything from the stunning waterfalls at Copper Falls State Park to the shoreline beauty of Devil’s Lake and the tranquility of the Northwoods.

With a Wisconsin Disabled Veteran or Former POW Park Admission Card, eligible veterans can explore these incredible natural spaces at little to no cost.


Eligibility & Benefits

Free Park Admission & Trail Pass:

  • Wisconsin resident disabled veterans with a service-connected disability rating of 70% or greater.
  • Former prisoners of war (POWs).

Discounted Annual Pass ($7/year):

  • Wisconsin resident disabled veterans with a service-connected disability rating of 50% or greater, or those deemed individually unemployable by the VA.

How to Apply

  1. Download & Complete the Applicant Portion of the Application
  2. Certify Your Application
  3. Submit Your Application

Using Your Park Admission Card

  • Once approved, you will receive a Wisconsin Disabled Veteran or Former POW Park Admission Card.
  • Present your card at the entrance of any state park, forest, or recreation area to receive a courtesy pass for the day.
  • For state trails requiring a trail pass, carry your identification card while using the trails.
