Deanne Herber

Deanne Herber was born in Sheboygan but grew up in Tomahawk, WI. She joined the Air Force after high school and that started a journey of approximately 25 moves within the U.S. and Latin America. She has worked in many different industries, but volunteerism and service have been hallmarks of her contribution in each community she has lived in.

Deanne holds a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Master of Public Administration from Brigham Young University.

In 2021, Deanne relocated back to Sheboygan from Northern Virginia and manages the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice volunteer program. She launched Kids In Combat Boots in 2022 as an initiative to recognize the contributions of service-connected children. Kids In Combat Boots was named judge and fan favorite at the 2023 Milwaukee Tech Hub FOR-M Incubator Showcase, received recognition as a phase 3 finalist at the Wisconsin Governor’s Business Plan Contest, and was awarded a $10,000 start-up grant through the Sheboygan Economic Development Corporation’s pitch competition.

Deanne is a member of American Legion Post 243 in Plymouth, WI. She serves as Secretary of the board of Etude Schools and is a member of the Sheboygan Blue Line Association’s marketing committee.

While still an avid traveler, Deanne loves calling Sheboygan her permanent home. She lives on the north side with two of her four children and a German Shepherd mix. Her adult children continue the family’s commitment to service with one serving as a 2LT in the U.S. Air Force at Shaw AFB and the other as an Air Force ROTC cadet at Florida State University. Deanne’s 8th-grade child is an avid hockey player with a keen interest in video games and VR, and her 5th-grade child is a student of ballet and entering their second season in competitive gymnastics.
