Honoring Service, Telling Stories: Wisconsin Marks Memorial Day and America 250
In honor of Wisconsin veterans and the 250th anniversary of the nation’s founding, the Wisconsin Veteran Memorial Cemeteries will host events throughout May, expanding beyond traditional Memorial Day observances.
This year’s Memorial Day theme, “Wisconsin Was There,” highlights the state’s enduring contributions to America’s history. Each cemetery will also share stories of veterans laid to rest there, connecting local legacies to the broader national story.
These events offer opportunities for communities across Wisconsin to honor those who served, reflect on the state’s role in shaping the nation, and participate in the commemoration of America’s 250th anniversary.
