She Is a Veteran is an outreach campaign aimed at empowering and supporting women veterans across the state. The campaign seeks to help women embrace their identity as veterans, shift public perceptions of what a veteran looks like, and connect them to the benefits, resources, and community support they have earned. Participants meet quarterly (either in person or remotely) with the campaign chair, WDVA’s Women Veteran Coordinator. These meetings provide a platform to share community outreach events and discuss the concerns, issues, and needs of Wisconsin’s women veterans.
The She Is a Veteran campaign consists of women veterans who represent the diverse backgrounds of Wisconsin veterans. These women share their stories, hoping their journeys will resonate with all individuals and encourage military women to speak up and proudly identify with their veteran status.
